Major departments in the hospital include General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, General Medicine, Nephrology, Respiratory, Urology, Orthopaedics, Stroke Medicine, Geriatrics, Toxicology, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Head and Neck Surgery, Endocrinology, the regional dialysis service, Stroke Unit, Coronary Care Unit, stand alone Oncology outpatient clinic and Radiology including MRI.
The hospital has digital radiology in the form of PACS throughout each campus and by the end of 2008 will have a completely Electronic Medical Record. Currently, Intensive Care has a bedside computerised Clinical Information System.
A new purpose-designed Clinical School for the University of Western Sydney (and also Sydney University) is planned to be completed by the end of 2008, with state-of-the-art IT solutions including an auditorium, skills labs and incorporating access to the latest, extensive University electronic libraries.
The hundreds of medical students tutored in this facility will also be exposed to clinical attachments within the ICU, with tuition involving both the Intensivists and Registrar staff.
